Rostelecom says to build towers along highways for speedy Internet

MOSCOW, Dec 6 (PRIME) -- Russian state-controlled telecom operator Rostelecom will build mobile connection towers along the highways to ensure the high-speed Internet, the operator said on Wednesday in a statement.

“Rostelecom…and state company Avtodor (also known as Russian Highways) agreed to cooperate. The agreement will provide the federal highways with mobile connection infrastructure for mobile services and the LTE high-speed data transfer. Pilar, a tower firm of (Rostelecom’s mobile operator) Tele2 will take part in construction of the antenna masts along the highways,” the statement read.

Pilar will lease out the spots on technological sites with antenna masts with a height of up to 250 meters.
